Organizational Description

The California Pan-Ethnic Health Network (CPEHN) is a statewide multicultural health advocacy organization working to improve the health of communities of color.

Scope of work

CPEHN's policy work focuses on a wide array of health topics including:

  • Expanding access to health care
  • Promoting cultural and linguistic competence
  • Incorporating a public health focus in land use and planning
  • Enhancing data and research on health disparities
  • Increasing access to healthy foods
  • Creating communities that promote physical activity

CPEHN is also a resource for data and research on the health of California's communities of color. Our website includes a variety of tools and information for advocacy work, including:

  • A comprehensive, searchable database on racial and ethnic health statistics
  • Original policy briefs that provide a unique perspective on current health policy issues
  • Updated information on active legislative efforts to reduce health disparities and improve health in communities of color
  • The latest developments on the Affordable Care Act in California
  • Analysis of the state budget and how it impacts health in communities of color
  • Information about the Having Our Say coalition, working to give communities of color a voice in the debate over access to quality health care
