Ethnic Partners
CPEHN was founded in 1992 by leaders from these four ethnic health organizations.
The mission of the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum is to promote improvement in the health status of all Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. The Health Forum envisions a multicultural society where Asian and Pacific Islander communities are included and represented in all health, political, social and economic areas.
The mission of the California Black Health Network is to improve the health of African Americans in California. In pursuing this mission, CBHN provides a forum where policy makers, providers, consumers, and advocates concerned with the health status and access to care for African Americans can engage in problem-solving and solution building. The organization also strives to develop and implement programs that will advance the value of health promotion.
The California Rural Indian Health Board, Inc. is devoted to the needs and interests of the Indians of Rural California. It is a network of Tribal Health Programs that is controlled and sanctioned by Indian people and their Tribal Governments. CRIHB develops and delivers policies, plans, programs, and services that elevate the health status and social conditions of our People; that develop capabilities within local programs, that communicate, educate, and advocate on shared interests and that organizes support for common goals. It does this through program development, legislation and advocacy, organization development, financial resources management, training and technical assistance, and networking and consensus building.
The Latino Coalition for a Healthy California is a statewide Latino health policy and advocacy organization committed to initiating and advancing policies that will increase access to health services and build healthy Latino communities in California. Created in 1992 to address the lack of a Latino voice in health policy debates, LCHC has flourished into a state model for community-based health policy development and advocacy. LCHC is guided by a Policy Committee comprised of California's leading Latino health care experts, researchers, clinic directors, health officials, professionals, administrators and policy makers, and health advocates. Under the direction of the Policy Committee, LCHC assesses community needs, identifies community values and incorporates community input into the development of health care policies.
