ABOUT THE CONVENING
The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) has released revised general plan guidelines, which direct cities and counties to consider key issues such as housing, complete streets, and open space in the planning and development of their communities. The revised guidelines include new sections on how local jurisdictions can promote health and equity in future development. These draft guidelines have the potential to impact health in many ways, such as encouraging the availability of healthy foods, promoting active transportation, and identifying housing needs.
Learn about the potential of the new guidelines at A Blueprint for Health: Planning Communities that Promote Equity! The convening will provide you the opportunity to:
- Hear about the draft guidelines from staff at the Office of Research and Planning
- Talk with local advocates about the potential impacts of the revisions
- Share your feedback on the new health and equity components of the draft guidelines
You can join the discussion about this event on Twitter at #Blueprint4Health.
In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, CPEHN will not be providing any handouts at the event, including PowerPoint presentations. Handouts will be available on this page a few days before the convening. A participant list will be emailed after the event.
$25 for the General Public and $10 for CPEHN Network Members (Network members should enter their discount code at the top of the registration form). Not a Network member? Join CPEHN's Network and receive a discount code!
