ABOUT THE WEBINAR
Join CPEHN for a webinar on December 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM.
With the Presidential election now past, President-elect Trump and Republican House Speaker Ryan are threatening to undo the extraordinary progress California has made towards eliminating health disparities and providing access to health care for millions of Californians, a majority people of color.
Join CPEHN and other advocates on December 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM, as we provide an overview of the 2017 landscape and what federal proposals to repeal the ACA might mean for the health of communities of color in California (see CPEHN's New Fact Sheet). This webinar is free and open to all.
CPEHN’s Executive Director and Policy staff will be on the call along with guest speaker Iyanrick John with the Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum:
- Opening remarks – Sarah de Guia, Executive Director/CPEHN
- Federal landscape – Iyanrick John, Policy Director/Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum
- State landscape – Cary Sanders, Director Policy Analysis/CPEHN and Kiran Savage-Sangwan, Director Health Integration Policy/CPEHN
Iyan will provide an overview of the federal landscape, including potential policy proposals and timeline for executive, budgetary and legislative action. Cary will discuss the state landscape and potential threats to Medi-Cal, Covered California and other ACA reforms. Kiran will discuss potential threats to behavioral health and other important consumer protections.
