As 2015 begins, we’re entering the second full year of the Affordable Care Act’s coverage expansions. Here in California, we’ve seen millions sign up for coverage through an expanded Medi-Cal program and Covered California. However, not every state has experienced similar success, as many have refused to expand their Medicaid programs or start a state insurance marketplace. With a new Congress that is hostile to the ACA and legal challenges set to hit the Supreme Court, 2015 could be a pivotal year for the most meaningful piece of health reform legislation passed in a generation.

To examine some of these challenges, our partners at the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) are hosting a webinar, What’s at Stake for the ACA in 2015? this Thursday, January 15th, at 11 am PST. This timely event will feature presentations from Ron Pollack, the Executive Director of Families USA and Aranthan “AJ” Jones, a Principal at the Podesta Group. From APIAHF:

“The purpose of the webinar is to help enrollment assisters, community advocates, and others understand what is happening at the federal level and the potential negative impact on access to health care, particularly for vulnerable populations including Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.”

Should be an interesting and informative discussion, so register today!
